Please have my Chloe in your thoughts on Wednesday

Chloe has what is called Epulis. Where I have circled the teeth there should be two white triangular teeth sticking up. The Epulis has engrossed the teeth'. It's quite hard and doesn't seem to pain her. On Wed 29 th going to Guelph to see Dog Dental Surgeon. They most likely will have to remove the teeth and take a piece of her lower jaw to make sure we get it all. Don't want this coming back. Been told it's quite common in Bull Dog & Boxer breeds because of the large jowls. Any how this will be taken care of Wed. Everything will happen same day.

She will do great Wayne! I must say, she has nice sparkly white teeth for her age!

Sending big hugs to all of you. Keep us posted on how it goes.

Thank you my friends. I'll know a lot more after Wednesday. For convenience reasons on both ends they do everything the same day. My Vet diagnosed and then we confirmed by sending photos to Guelph. Our Vet did pre-op blood work so she's all set. We go to Guelph first thing and have a consultation explaining details questions etc.
All agreed we go ahead with the procedure right away and Chloe will come home the same day and fallow up will be done by our Vet.
Thanks again I will keep everyone posted.

We'll be thinking of her! I'm sure she will do great. Maggie had a very large portion of jaw and 4 teeth removed in June (oral melanoma) and did awesome. And I'm sure that is much more than Chloe will need. Maggie was on a soft diet for 3 weeks, no toys or playing with other dogs for 4, then normal activity after 5 weeks.

Good luck sweet girl!

Just want to add 2 things....

It may sound dumb, but I was really nervous to see what Maggie would look like after surgery. But as soon as I saw her and she ran over wagging her tail, it didn't matter. She's still my beautiful girl.

Second, functionally she is doing very well and you'd really never know she had the surgery. Her tongue hangs out to the side quite a bit since she is missing the box that normally holds it in. That's not a real issue though.

She is a messier eater now and needs her bowl to be against something since she scoops more, rather than picks up her food. Since her homemade diet is pretty soft and messy anyway, we made a box for her dish. It's a large clear plastic box (like a rubbermaid storage box). We cut out the front but left the sides and back. Her bowl sits inside. It's easy to take outside and hose off - much easier than cleaning dried fish, sweet potato, and egg off the walls!
