Playing with layers

Just wanted to share this. I've been experimenting with layers and opacity. I hope you enjoy this as it's my Chloe and the shores of Newfoundland in the back. Sadly Chloe has never been there.

That's neat Wayne!!! One of these days when I can find time I'd love to get some of your knowledge!

Did you try it the other way? With the dog image more opaque and the background more translucent? I bet that would look nice, too but maybe not what you were after.

I'm not done playing yet. I've had a few suggest reversing the opacity. Going to experiment some more. :)

This has both layers opacity cut, I like it. It's the mouth of St Johns Harbor & my Newfs mouth. LOL. I didn't like the dog overpowering the photo as I was to show the dog's spirit or soul.

My thoughts exactly Wayne... :whistling:

I like the first one better. The land cutting through the face in the 2nd one bothers me. Why don't you try one where the newf's head is scaled down a bit. I feel in both the head is very overpowering.

Yes to this. I think scaling down more on the landscape opacity might work. Or, cut the landscape rather than superimposing the photos so it doesn't cut the head. Alternatively, a photo of the dog from a bit farther away or in profile might work so it isn't as large. Anyway, I like the idea of showing the spirit of the dog in that landscape. I think you are on to something great.
