I just found out, late as usual, that this week is Pet Appreciation Week. So I thought why not ask my NN friends to post why they appreciate their wonderful furry members of the family, and maybe share with us what you do for your beloved friend to show your appreciation.

I appreciate that Ada has good taste in music. She starts barking every time I make an attempt to play my violin, and I think it's because she can tell I'm an awful player. :D But, more generally, I just love that she's so much fun and ALWAYS happy to see me.

Wow. Where to start? I think the biggest thing is their unconditional devotion and gentle nature. They're just angels in a big shaggy coat.

I could go on with this forever....what I will say is they complete me (yea, I stole it from that movie but so what it works for me) and hopefully they feel the same but I suppose you'd have to ask them. We go everywhere together.....we do everything together, we share our lives the good and the bad the happy and the sad....all of it! I wouldn't have it any other way!

I appreciate Mila for many reasons, but I really, really appreciate her for being the only animal in the house that loves Rowan. The cats hate his guts but Mila would wear him as a hat if she could. I love her for loving him...

I love Koda because she is the most pure of heart creature to ever live. All she does is love us unconditionally and want to please us. She makes mistakes, sure but never with thoughts of malice. How do I show her that I appreciate her? I let that 110 pound dog crawl into my lap for snuggle time. Keep in mind, I only outweigh her by 10 pounds. Yes it's painful, but seeing how much she loves it makes it all worth it.

They take care of us, by giving love and hugs. I could not imagine a day without them. They are funny, entertaining, give us fun playtime, and many thing I can't think of right now.

we spend our everyday trying to give back to them what they have already given us, learning from the lessons they teach and just loving and being thankful for every moment we have them. They are my life and my heart. its easy to go on and on for when you love these precious beings words are never enough.

I am eternally thankful for my dogs. I am serving on a Trustee Board (one year done with a 3-year term) and we have FIRED our minister. Half the board members are 'self-medicating', the other half seem to indulge heavily in libation.....all I can do to de-stress is 'hang out' at the dog park!

Works for me! :new_smilie_colors1:

Appreciate just doesn't seem like a strong enough word for what these guys give in return....unconditional love and a sense of absolute joy in life.

No matter what is going on in my crazy life Rocky is ALWAYS there for me and makes me feel like I am absolutely the MOST important person in the world. I also appreciate the fact that even after 4 years of having him in my life I still am in awe of the absolute beauty of this breed. I still catch my self just staring at him and thinking what a beautiful dog!
