So..to wrap this lovely..never-to-be-repeated..event, I hope..up.. Sons and I depart the camp..Sunday noon..down the mountain..wave and turn our sep. directions..and aWAYYyyyy..we go right? Various points along the way..traffic is locked down to from nothing to 3 to 5 miles per hour. Two wrecks..diff. places..sigh..folks insist on trying to tow..huge motor homes with too-short a wheel base van..and oopsie..there they go..over, and over again!) Well..traffic is..normal hell..the Civic copes well with son the first driving..and we decide to stop in Centralia for lunch at a McMennimans. (You have not lived..until you stop and enjoy their collection of truely historic buildings..that they have turned into pubs, all over Oregon..Sublime..I tell you..sublime!! ) We park a block away..the bank sign says 102, we march with great will and ..focus..towards the Pub..and..make it into cooling 100 year old theatre and pool-hallness..filled with other afficinados of McMennimans. We order, we go gaze at/use..the restrooms facilitys..which are always..part of the 'experience'..and soon our tiny ales (we are driving) and huge sandwiches and side salads arrive. Well into our lunch..and..the firealarm goes off! Everyone in the tables and booths..keeps eating..but purses are slipped onto arms..and hands ready to carry our paid for lunches..outside with us. A truck arrives asap..men are donning their helments and the sound..still screams around us. Men spread out, checks are made, frowning wait-staff are looking around to try to find a culprit. I am guessing it is the heat in the bowels of the electronic circuitry..as no smell of smoke, no crackiling of walls/ceilings near our section. Sure enough..all is well, purses are removed from arms and glasses of ale are lifted..in pure joy and NOT..having to..abandon our killer lunches! Ok..I need a nap now..after the most eventful '3 and a half day' vacation-sorta..in moi life. ZZzzzzzzz z z z z z z ina n HB n Kesa
