NN cocker

I've had a cocker here since 5/5. The owner is unable to keep the dog because she has health issues and is going into a nursing home. I've tried all this time to get the family to let me find this dog a home. They didn't want to as they were hoping their mom could go home. Over the weekend they came to realize their mom would not be going home. So they decided to find the dog a home. Sunday, they picked him up and tried to find him a home but couldn't. They decided to take him to the shelter today. I talked them out of that asking them to let me try to find the dog a home. Today they agreed and gave me until Friday to find the dog a home. (The children live out of town, Chicago and LA they were here only for the weekend.)

I posted on my FB page and within 10 minutes a friend/customer called wanting this dog. Within 20 minutes they were at my house picking up Clover. I am so glad he has a great home and is not heading to the shelter. I think he would have gotten adopted at the shelter but they do not screen their homes. I know he will be well taken care of and he has a little sister, a 7 month old cocker.:dance01:

That's great!! Glad Clover didn't have to go to the shelter, and has a good home now! FB is an excellent resource for things like this!!

What would be really nice is if the new owners would be willing to take him to his former owner's nursing home to visit with her. I'm sure it would make her so happy to know her dog is being loved and cared for. I'll bet she's been worried about him. Nursing homes will often let dogs in to see their "people".

If they decide to do that, could you let us know how it turns out?

WTG! :icon_bb: Great story with a happy ending. Would love to hear if they take him to visit at the nursing home.

Wonderful Jeannie!! What a great story and an even better ending - thanks to you. Now if the cocker can go to the nursing home for visits, it would be perfect. Please let us know if that happens. Thank you!!!
