Thanks for the suggestion Zoom Zoom. I guess the tub on the video circulates the shampoo and water together. So when you are using the hose it delivers both to the coat. Just called and ordered mine and the price has gone up. The woman on the phone said that $19.99/half litre was incorrect. It is now $21.99/half litre.

I have the shampoo also. Used it today and I am extremely pleased with the results on both Scarlet and the new puppy. I was using Crown Royale from Biovite prior and really liked it, but this does dry quicker and the hair is softer and fuller. I use a washcloth when I bathe my dogs. I know this sounds weird, but it works. So I poured a little shampoo on the moistened cloth and applied it that way. It didn't take any more shampoo than I used to use, about 4 oz. It doesn't suds up but it definitely is enough to leave product on all o the hair. I put a small amount of the conditioner on the feathers, the pants, and the chest and then just used my hands to fun it through the underbelly and sides. I know you are probably thinking that the washrag Creates a bunch of tangles, but it does not and I think it helps to distribute the shampoo to the entire coat as well as create some friction if your dog is dirty. Just my two cents.
My old groomer (and breeder) used to use one of those soft loofa balls (the women use in the shower) to bathe dogs. I don't think your crazy:)

I had been looking at the hydrosurges but from what I can tell you can only use their shampoo packets so I didn't want to buy it. I was at Bed Bath and Beyond the other day and came across this. It's the same concept and you can put your own shampoo in it. I hooked it up and checked the pressure but haven't actually bathed anyone yet. It seems like it will work well though and it's about $30 less than the hydrosurge.
I also bought the panagenic shampoo and conditioner and really like it.

I got my Bathing Beauty gosh 7 years or so ago and it's still going strong. Works great. They are 100.00 more now but it does save water and shampoo and also the dogs rinse out much faster. If the dogs are really muddy, I rinse them first as not to circulate the super dirty water. It has been the target of assault by a certain plastic eating dog here but my dear old dad has been able to splice the wire to keep it going! It's now kept in protective custody away from Breesy. I would recommend one if you're on a well and need to watch water consumption.

I got so engrossed in watching the grooming videos, that I forgot to make dinner! Penny does a great job of explaining what she's doing and why.

That was very educational... Ive don alot of bath and brush, and groomed a few cockers... the only shaping I've ever done is beveled(sp) feet for the cockers... watching her shape that dog was amazing! wish grooming stuff wasnt so expensive...

Panagenics (a grooming product line) was the sponsor for these videos. They changed their formulas for shampoo/conditioner last year. Eric Salas and Penny Shubert filmed a new series of video's late last fall. The Show Grooming video is available and a Complete Newfoundland Grooming video should be available soon. This is the Youtube link to the currently available video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAKsDKXp7CY

I've used it. Taver's coat has never been so soft. It's cuts down on the time washing and drying him to about an hour and a half! (Not counting the night before of putting the conditioner in.) poor boy just "hates" having to get two full body massages in a row. It was weird putting it on a dry dog, but it really worked.
The only drawback is price. I'm not sure I would use it if I wasn't trying to get Gwena's CH. It takes half a bottle to do both of mine, and with 2-4 baths a month it adds up to buying in bulk!
I'd recommend trying it and deciding.
