Hello friends, I have been newfing-the-net on your site for several weeks, and can't help but feel lots of love for your dogs and each other. I have an 8 month old Newf, Sirius Black. Over the years, we have had quite a few dogs of various breeds. When our American Eskimo died last summer, leaving our Siberian Huskey (King) without a pack member, I decided to make a careful selection, instead of letting the children, husband, or friend? make the choice for me. I had a tidy list in mind when I saw my first real live Newfoundland. I wrestled with my heart for about two months but could not resist the first real live Newfoundland puppy that happened across my path. I have no regrets about Sirius, who is now 90 lbs., in his third week of obdience training, and sounds so much like your dogs that I am very reassurred. Thanks for the most useful reading. When I figure out how to post photos I will try to. Thank you for giving me such a boost, after a lot of explanations as to why I got such a big, black, drooly dog. Lynn

My husband and i got our newf after our beloved coonhound passed away. I know you can not replace one dog with another but there is nothing like a newf to help mend a broken heart and fill your life with love (that is if you have done all the research prior and know it is the dog for you)
