Vet came to the house around 8:30, you passed peacefully with your Mom & Dad right by your side. We drove you to Noah's Ark Crematorium and they handled you with such love and care, just like us. You will be home before nightfall and will forever be loved with your family. Your Dad wrote this over the past few days and I find it very very special, just like you my love. We are both blessed to have a strong man in our lives.

Out of a tragedy you were brought into our lives, most unexpected, but something that we had talked about and considered. Then you were there. You were awkward and funny at first, one of the smallest compared to your brothers and sisters, a personality all your own and a mischievous force to be reckoned with.

A little lady you were not, of course there were times when the little girl did show through, but for the most part you were always bound and determined to be the little tom boy....tremendously sloppy, totally lacking any social grace, always fearless. With the exception of any passing thunder storms or the fourth of July

It wasn’t long before we knew that we would have our hands full when it came to this little girl. Constant bouts with ear infections and skin rashes and countless other problems led us to an immune system disorder and despite all of our attempts to solve it, it would just never be. How hard it must have been for you to fight through it all. You very quickly became our “special girl” and it didn’t take long before we knew why we had been gifted with you. I fear many others would have given up. I hope we never failed to show you the same love that you so freely and eagerly gave to us.

It has been ten years now, almost to the exact day that you were born. A wonderful and always eventful ten years, you have shared our lives. You have shared our joys and our pains. You have watched over your family, our children and grandchildren. You have played in the sun and in the snow in the water and on the beach, you have slept by our side every night. A commanding bark whenever a stranger was near, you would always stand rock solid until you thought the danger was gone. Little did any one know how gentle you could truly be. Even in these last days you still fight through you push past it all , you would fight through to the end to fulfill your purpose, your determination has never faltered. You are a true testament to your breed.

So after all these years of our depending on you for our protection and your companionship the time has come for you to depend on us. Our hearts are broken but we cannot fail you here. I know you would continue, you would continue right to the end, that is your spirit. But your pain and your eyes tell me differently. It is time for us to let you go now. It is time for you to rest. It will be quiet soon and your pain will all be gone, this time we will lay by your side. we will be your protectors and your companions and you will forever be our special girl.

Will we remember you, how about every time the snow falls, when we see the waves crashing on the beach, every thunder storm and every fourth of July, every unexpected knock at the front door and every night when we lay down to sleep.
Your memory will remain a part of us until the day that we finally rest.

Wow......I'm a puddle of tears:cry: I am so very sorry for your loss. Myra sounds like she was such a special and wonderful girl who always wanted to do things her way. Reading about her reminded me of Daria.

Hugs to you all!

Tears flowing here. Can't seem to stop them. What a touching tribute to a truly special girl.

Rest in peace, sweet Myra, knowing you gave everything you had plus more, and were loved beyond measure. Your NN family will miss you.

My sincere sympathy for your pain, Dawn and Vin. In a week filled with the tears of loss, this last tribute has me openly weeping. Every dog deserves a family as devoted and loving as Myra had, the love she gave was returned every day. I rarely say this but after a conversation with an animal communicator and my Lu, I have no doubt that Myra is running free in her new fully heathy spirit and will return to your side for the rest of your days.

Oh, Dawn. I'm so sorry. As Myra and Elvis are the same age, I was dreading see this one day. Your post to her was beautiful. I hope you're at ease knowing you did everything absolutely right by her. You gave her the world and when she had had enough, you gave her eternity.

So deeply sorry for you loss. These unique dogs fill our lives so and their loss leaves a void that is hard to describe.

Hope that the memories ease your loss and eventually replace the grief with a smile,

Oh Dawnmerie, I am so sorry for your loss. I haven't been here in quite a while, so missed this when it happened. My heart goes out to you. You all did your best, and sometimes that means knowing when to say "when". ((HUGS))
