MCK vs. Furminator

Are they the same thing? If not, what are the differences? Grooming a newf and a saint here so would like something suitable for both.

I have both and the Furminator was a bust. MCK works great but get the 18 double edge as I bought the 6 blade and it wasn't great.

I use the MCK on Sundance (Newf) and Daisy (Saint). Daisy is shedding a ton now and I don't know what I would do without it.

A friend with Newfs borrowed my MCK and she had Furminator. She preferred the Furminator. But she is the only person I talked to that liked it. I think 99% of anyone else with a newf goes for the MCK

The ayes have it....MCK it is! Furminators in my little neck of the woods are around 65 bucks so price isn't really an issue. (plus 13% tax)

I just ordered the MCK yesterday. I'm really anxious to try it out. All the rave reviews I read has it being the best tool so far.
Sydney is the one who is going to get the brunt of its use I'm sure.

I just love this question, because it lets me use my hardsell photo of Nanook!

Eh Voila!

The furminator could NEVER have gotten that much off him. The MCK did.

which is the best blade size for a Newf as am thinking about getting one as Beau has such a thick coat and even my undercoat rake struggles

Yep!! 18 double wide it was and boy, I sure am impressed. I didn't get quite as much off of Sydney as Nessa did off Nook but I came darn close. The best $$ I've spent on a tool so far. Trust me too..I have bought plenty that will grow cobwebs now that I have the MCK

Where can I order in Canada? I've checked the Pet Supply House, they only have a Double Wide Coat King 22 BL... is this ok?

Is MCK an abbreviation? If so what is the full name. I try finding it at PetEdge or even googling it and not coming up with a grooming tool at all.
