Luxating Patella as TPLO complication

Has anyone's Dog that had TPLO surgery experienced luxating patella as a complication? Gibbs our 7 year old male Lab has had two TPLO surgeries. There didn't seem to be any complications after the first one with that leg. The second surgery recuperation seemed to be going fine too until I noticed that he was jerking one of his legs around almost involuntarily. It's like it would kick out at an angle. After he smacked into me and kicked a chair I took him to the Vet. She said it wasn't a complication of the TPLO but seemed more like luxating patella. She x-rayed the leg with the second TPLO surgery and said it looked like it had healed nicely. She didn't think he needed to go back to the Orthopedic Surgeon and it didn't happen again until today. He did it right as I was at the computer and I googled luxating patella and it didn't seem like it could be what he has as TPLO surgery should have fixed it ... until I googled TPLO complications and it came up. Crap! Now I have to find out if it will continue to get worse or what his options are.

Ginny,

Do you know if it causes them a lot of pain? Is it something that must be fixed? Another surgery?
