Long time newfie fan

I guess I should have posted here first instead of jumping in and posting our photos, but here we are anyway.

I am a new (seven month old) newfie mom. D'Artagnan is a neutered male that was aquired when I promised my fiancee that I would find a dog that was the OPPOSITE personality of his ex-wifes Australian Cattle Dog.

I think I did good! ; )

At any rate, I am not new to newfies, but now I have more time to devote to the passion. I love these animal and am looking forward to adopting another in the near future. I thought about a pyr but we have already decorated in black. : )

Why mess with a good thing!

Welcome! Gorgeous avatar you have there of D'Artagnan. Do you call him something else for short?

Hi and Welcome! Hes a handsome boy. Where did you get the name D'Artagnan from? I know I heard it before but I cant remember where, is it from a movie? :confused:

Thanks you! And yes we sometimes call him Tagnan for short. Our trainer wanted to craw under a table when she heard his name. It comes from the infamous 'fourth' musketeer that was depicted in the movie 'Man in the Iron Mask'. Porthos, Athos and Armis where the original.

BTW, I just LOVE this forum! I had so many questions that no one answered sufficiently - is he the right size, can I card his undercoat, and why does he get that crazy look in his eyes right before launching into my lap? Anyway, I found it all here!
