I put it under maladies and diseases- he has a growth behind the ear drum, which was causing infection and ruptured the ear drum. I decided at this time not to have it tested for cancer. He is also having a pea sized hard growth off of his side. I can call after 1pm. They did another yesterday and the vet tech said it was horrible, full of infection. Thanks for telling me that! I think we have the infection cleared up so maybe ours will go better, also Kody's ears are much bigger than a Basset so maybe they can do the procedure easier. I am glad they attempted the other dog first, since I don't think they had done this before and had to borrow the equipment.

It must have gone ok because I called in and they said I can pick him up after 3pm, so I asked and I am leaving work at 3 so I can get him home where he will be more comfortable.
I have tomorrow off so I can baby the big guy.

All is well. the growth was about 2 inches long and went way down into the ear. They feel they got it all. It wasn't letting anything in or out, thus the infection built up. But we have that under control now. I also had them remove a pea size growth from his side. It was hard and turning purpleish black and I wanted it off. he ate a little rice for dinner and is sleeping. Even came upstairs to lie by me. the stiches will dissolve.
