Kody's ear surgery

Sometime in the next two weeks Kody will have surgery to remove a polyp behind his ear drum. The ear drum ruptured due to an infection caused by the polyp. My vet has to borrow a polyp lasso to cut the growth out of his ear. Meantime we are treating it with cephalexin, ear drops and Prednisone.

Thanks for the good thoughts and prayers. Kody is resting well at home. They feel they got it all, it was about 2 inches long and extended back into the ear, plugging it off.
he also had a pea sized growth removed from his side.

Wow, that sounds just awful. Glad to hear they got it all, I hope his recovery goes smoothly and he's back to old his Newfie self in no time!

I guess time will tell about his hearing. The ear drum should grow back. The polyp may grow back, too. My vet is going to purchase the equipment now that they see how well it works for removing these.
