It looks to be a quality food, Eva. Have you gotten a handle on which foods are contributing to Boo's allergies? My only comment is that it looks a bit pricey, but if it works, you'll save on vet bills and medications. Let us know if you try it out and if you see an improvement. Give the big man a hug and some kisses for me.

Thank you all for your responses :)

I will update you on how Boo handles this food...

The issues... We are itchy, itchy and some more itchy to the point that I want to scratch myself just watching him. He also constantly paws at me to scratch him where he can not reach... Oh head shaking and whining :(

Vet suggested elimination method so we are doing that. So far beef is out... Definitely more itchy. We are taking a break from prednisone ...I was told the blood test is not that accurate...what do you think bout patch tests ?

I hope no hots spots will show up... We just cleared up and regrew hair...
It all started with fleas and bad flea allergy and now it looks like food allergies too :(

Eva,
When all this started with the flea allergy, did it turn into a skin infection from scratching? If so and he was treated with antibiotics, how long was the treatment?

With regard to the food, what else does he eats? What treats? Any supplements/vitamins?

I'm so sorry for your boy. I know its hard to watch. My Berner had allergies and I switched her to a venison based diet. I couldn't give her chicken, salmon, or grains without major flare ups. I even started making my own dog shampoo and always rinsed her with a solution of water and apple cider vinegar after her bathes. Greatly alleviated a lot of what she was going through. Check out this link:

Good luck!

I will try the apple cider !!! Thank you for your suggestions :)

So first we had a major flea infestation, had to do a flea bath at the vets...after that he continued to scratch and also developed very heavy dandruff on his back...and then two hot spots near his tail atop his back. He was on this for 2 weeks: Diphen 50mg every 8 hrs, Clavamox 500mg every 12 hrs and Azium .75mg every 24hrs and Betagen spray for spots. We got off Azium (like Predinsone) and are continuing with Diphen (like Benadryl)...
He still has very dry skin where the hot spots were...the flakes are as big as snowflakes, well mini snowflakes...

he was actually a little better today no head shaking...but is trying to eat his hind legs right now :(

He eats ground boiled turkey with carrots and peas several times a week, scrambled eggs maybe like onece a week, boild beef once a week if any, I mix a little of the above with his kibble: Life's Abundance.

For snacks: bully sticks, greenie from time to time, cheddar cubes and the laughing cow cheese. I have to admit I do give him hot dogs when I make them for myself but they are usually beef chicken or turkey never pork.

He does not seam to have stomach issues...
He used to have liquid stools in the past and diagnosis went as far IBS but that was based on stomack X-ray and turned out to be a false alarm. He was on purina gastroentric and then we switched to the recent kibble which was recommended by the trainer.

At the very moment he is only eating kibble and some boiled rice.

Hi All,

Thank you all for all the pointers and advices. I was feeding him life abundance dry food: Life’s Abundance Premium Health Food for Puppies & Adult Dogs. He went on it after purina gastro. He was doing well on it but I'm trying to find something better with limited sources of protein. We are trying brothers complete allergy formula ( turkey and rice ). Stools still on the loose side but I'm gonna try to stick it out for another 2 weeks maybe more...
Raw - not having much luck there - he is literally afraid of it :(....btw still itchy with tons of dandruff ....
