Infected Paw

When I got up this morning my 2 yr old Samantha could hardly walk. I rushed her to the vet and she has an infected paw. (right front) Probably from stepping on a stone or something. Between her pads it is real red and sore. When we exercise her we run her while riding our bikes. We think maybe she hurt it while conditioning. Has anyone ever used those rubber boots? Do they stay on. I saw them in the New England Serum catalog. They cost $45. I hate to spend the money if they don't stay on. These are suppose to be better than the nylon ones. Has anyone had experience with an infected paw? I have an antibiotic for her and some bacteria cream for her paw

Thanks for any info anyone can offer

Sorry, I don't know anything about those boots. But Khiori had an infected paw last summer. We took her to the vet and they wrapped it (after applying ??? ) The wrap stayed on for three days as I recall.

Personally, I wouldn't take her running for a day or two. Then try running again. HTH.

I got a pair of those boots and Sam is okay about wearing them. This is good because I thought she would take them off and eat them.
They are much like tennis shoes on the bottom. I didn't run her until I got the boots, because I didn't want to take a chance to hurt her again and that was the following Monday. She is doing well now. Thanks for the advice.---are you the same person on the Yahoo Newf Club?????
