Homeless Newf

They need someone who does dog language to sit somewhere and just sit....That is how i got my puppy farm puppies to come near me and eventually like people....yawning, lip-licking turning away, all the things most people do not do

Shame the dog walker could not be convinced, that is the most likely person to get near as he walks along

We have caught some very skittish dogs that way..not really catch, bond them to us and they came to us. can take days

What I don't like is the shelter set up a fund raiser to purchase a net gun to capture him then to quote

"Daineles said that once the dog is captured, “We will make sure Shaggy is healthy and fine, and we will transfer Shaggy to a place that can work on behavior modification and placement.”

I hope at this "place" they have a respected trainer in mind as if they get ahold of someone like ceasar who thinks it is better to bully into submission I fear for this pup. If I were closer I would go and sit with him and wait until he came to me. If he is getting that close to some of the walkers just given alittle time he would be able to be caught.

Seen he was rescued and taken to the Devoted Barn, looks like a good place they help with abuse/neglected cases along with feral dogs. Took him right to the vet to have him evaluated there and are working with him now with positive reinforcement. :)

Have been checking in at the Devoted Barn reading all their updates on their ferals/rescues and on Shaggy too. Sounds like he is coming right along enjoying his peanut butter treat from his newest little friend. :)
