Home With Our First Newf

Although I have followed many posts over the last year, this post is my first one as we just got home to Labrador from Eastern Ontario with our 10 week old female newf, Bailey. She was a real trooper on the 1550 km journey back and charmed many people along the way. Thankfully, Bailey has adapted to the minus 20 degrees Celsius temperatures and a metre of snow on the ground. Hope to have a photo to show soon once I figure out how it is done.

Congratulations! She sounds like a brave little girl and definitely a snow bunny in the making. Hope to see photos soon, although I'm sure they will make me envious. Be sure to include a belly shot. :) And little tootsies, too!

Congratulations! This is such a special time. Welcome, we can't wait to get to know Bailey (and we LOVE pictures, especially of fluffy little puppies).

Congratulations! So glad the trip went well. Our trip home was significantly shorter and significantly more eventful, too but we made it and Obi is great in the car now.

I posted three photos in my album titled "1st year photos of Bailey" as I still can't figure out how to put a photo here. I included a belly shot. I started writing a weekly blog called Big Dog in the Big Land (search goggle using bigdogsinthebigland) which chronicles adventures with Bailey and my family as well as provides current photos.

Belly Shot Addicted Already

I can't stop myself as I am already addicted. My screen saver is of Bailey lying fast asleep with her belly side up. Giving her belly rubs is one of the best things to do!!

I'll try to restrain myself from posting any belly shots. Bailey is being treated for roundworm at the moment which resulted in a very interesting weekend for the family.

Thanks for the encouragement. Just when we thought spring weather was finally here, another 10 cm of snow. Bailey seems to be the only one rejoicing about this turn of events. She managed to convince us that making snowballs for her to catch was a wonderful way to spend an evening. She is like a kid with candy - only it's the white stuff.

Yes, it is hard to believe as a former British Columbian (Comox) and the weatherman is saying more to come. Lucky Bailey!
