I have not been on Newf Net since 9-17-11, that year I lost my Kody and 27 days later my sweet Dixie. We are doing fine, we have adopted/rescued a 1 yr old Austrailian Cattle Dog. Talk about a big difference, I still love Newfies. In fact I was recently informed of a 1 1/2 yr old male and I connected a friend who lost her Newfie in Jan, they were able to adopt this boy and are having fun adjusting. Hope everyone is doing fine, I might stop by to check out pictures and funny stories from time to time. Have a great weekend! Peggy

Our new dog is Lucy

That was her name and we didn't want to change it. She was in a home for 4 months with another cattle dog mix who did not appreciate a new addition to the family. As Lucy went into heat at 6 months, a day or two before her spay appt. (doesn't it always happen that way!) the other dog became more aggressive with Lucy. Lucy spent most of her time in a crate for her protection. She is still shy of some dogs, but great with people. She seems very happy here and relaxed. She loves to play fetch, we got a "chuck it" to throw the ball. She has been coming to work with me at the credit union one day a week and enjoys meeting all the people that come in during the day. She keeps our lives interesting!

I've met Lucy...she is very sweet. Peggy even brought her to work with her this past Thursday. Peggy works very close to where I work. What a delight to walk into a workplace and be greeted by such a happy face (Lucy's not Peggy...sorry Peggy ;) ) And, this past Saturday I met the newf she helped re-home. Now that was a happy newf!

Hello again......Cattle dogs love training, we have had a couple as work dogs and they were fun to do all sorts of tricks with. And they loved Obedience. Very clever dogs. Good to hear Lucy got lucky and has now got a loving home :)Ronnie
