Hello fine people and dogs of Newf Net,

My name is Michael and that incredibly handsome fellow in my avatar is Henry. He is 4-1/2 years old and is half Newfoundland and half Great Pyrenees, and as loving as could be. I rescued him a day before his first birthday, severely underweight, matted and covered in filth. He had never been in a car or even on a leash before that day, and thankfully took to both as if he knew what his future held (I like to think he did). Now he's a healthy 130 pounds of loving, shedding, drooling, grumbling, happiness!

After years of rescue Goldens, and losing our Beau to old age this summer, I finally decided it was time for a puppy. I found this site while researching breeders and it's been very helpful. Thanks to all those wonderful stickies so many of you have worked so hard on! After many e-mails with different breeders and narrowing it down, I found one that felt like a great fit. We talked for a few weeks and a couple of weeks ago Henry and I finally got a chance to visit their home to meet them and their dogs. It was a great couple of hours and we all decided that Henry and I would make a great home for one of their future puppies! So hopefully next summer, we'll get to enjoy all the good and bad things that comes with a Newf puppy. I think we all know that the bad isn't really that bad, and the good is so much better than you ever expect.

Well I've rambled on enough for now. I'll try to be as helpful as a I can around here, and thanks again for all the wonderful information and inspiration.
