Ok, I'm home so I can take a look around now. Unfortunately, I've got to go back to work so I can't spend much time here at the moment.
And yes, I'm using a different e-mail address than I do for Newf-L. This is actually one of Sammy's accounts, but he lets me use it.

Hello Everyone, I've been lurking since last week and decided this morning to post an introduction

Baloo is our first Newf, one we have waited for, for over 1 1/2 years. He is 13 weeks old today and we've had him for 2 1/2 weeks. So far, so good
I'm supposing this facination with the water bowl will never go away..LOL

We are hoping to show and possibly stud him, but will wait and see if that "lifestyle" works for our family. We also have a 5 year old Yellow Lab, Gus (who is still waiting for Baloo to go home...hee hee hee).

We live in Northern California and I will be attending as many dog shows, water conformations etc. in our area in the next few months to learn as much as I can.

Looking forward to learning all I can about Newfs from all of you seasoned Newfie parents

Me too, I've been lurking on and off since the 20th (I think). Got two dogs here. Khiori, spayed fem 2 years old TODAY! (wow, I had forgotten!!). She's recovering from cruciate surgery and is under my desk at the moment.

Then there's Solo, neutered male landseer, about 1.5 yrs old. I think he's harassing the cat upstairs

GAD, I know we can post piccy's here... do you mind?

Hi everyone, my name is Theresa and I live in Hawaii with my husband, our 3 month old baby boy and 2 newfies. Our girl is 3 years old, spayed. Our boy is a year and 4 months, uneutered. I want to get him neutered because we don't plan on showing him or use him for breeding but my husband doesn't want to. This is an ongoing discussion for us. Anyway, just wanted to say hello to everyone.

Thanks Gad. My thoughts/arguments exactly! Believe me, it's an ongoing discussion. My husband just refuses to see it my way. It is very frustrating.

I'm glad Solo was neutered when we got him (He was seven months old) However, my hubby would have no problems having it done... er, on Solo that is...

Theresa, don't know if you were on Newf-l in December when I was in a panic. We HAD to have our Harvey, 10 1/2 yrs old, neutered because he had perianal tumors. They're non-malignant, but will get HUGE and interfere with the dog's ability to poop, sit, etc. And they're hormonal! They began to go down as soon as he had the surgery. There are also neat things like testicular tumors and prostate problems. (my first Newf had that!) Harv was shown, so he hadn't been done. But it's so much safer for the dog to be neutered, and the surgery is less risky if the dog is young! Tell your husband my sad stories and see if it helps!
