July 1st 1867 was when Canada was officially "founded" with the British North America Act.. so basically, it's our country's birthday (even though more than half our provinces/territories weren't part of Canada until much later)

Had a nice day. Went to see the fireworks. Obi was fine with the little ones. He tried to crawl into my lap when the first big one came but after a moment or two he calmed down and actually watched the fireworks. I had his leash tied to a fence post so there would be no chance he could pull the leash from me. Hopefully this little episode will stand us in good stead and he won't be scared of other fireworks. He is good with thunder storms too which I'm really happy about because my last dog would try to climb on my head. And succeed. There was no calming her at all.
