This was taken of Maggie just last week, when we had snow. She LOVED snow. She has been getting weaker these past few months, but she rallied for about a week, then went downhill fast in the past two days. This morning we took her to our vet's office and she crossed quickly and easily.

I'd like to think that her sister, Lucy, met her at the bridge with a big stick to play tug of war, like they used to do.

We're going to miss you, Muffin Head!

So very sorry Laurel :( That wonderful picture of her in the snow is how I will always remember her, such a beautiful girl...go find your friends Maggie!

I know I replied to this, but must have not hit post. :( So sorry to read of your Maggie going to the Bridge. In fact I think the picture you posted in the snow from last week was one of the main reasons I let Snuffles lay out there last night. At his age, it could easily be his last winter and he always loved laying out there in the snow.

Yes, Leonard, that's why I let Maggie lie out there that day. I was shoveling the walk, and she insisted on coming out, too. I had to get her there with a sling, but then she just laid there, watching me and collecting snowflakes on her coat. I am so glad she had that last snow to enjoy.

By the way....TAKE PICTURES of Snuffles enjoying his favorite things. You will treasure those, when he's gone.

Now you are making me tear up. He did show a bit of puppyhood today. The neighbor dog was out on her tether, and Snuffles walked in the snow to say hi. Then Kit-Kat ran to the door when Mom came to get Gracie and Snuffles lunged, and fell in the snow. :(
