Greatest Find Ever

I was actually at a dollar store when I came across this amazing thing (Ontario people I was at Dollarama). It's called a self-cleaning pet brush. I thought what the heck I like to try new things so I bought one. Of course I couldn't wait to try it out and as soon as I got home I started brushing the Newfs. I can't believe this brush. It takes out matts, it takes out excess fur and my dogs loved it. They even let me brush their tails which is the one part I always problems doing. Not only that but I have a Persian/Himmie who becomes Kujo when you brush her and she just sat there and let me. This brush has a button on the back that you press (it's spring operated) and a piece that's around the brissles moves up and pushes the fur out. It cost me $1.25 plus tax. I'm going back tomorrow to get a few more to keep in stock. This brush is amazing. I have every brush imaginable and have spent a lot of money on grooming supplies but my guys don't love the rake as I think it hurts them even gently but they just stood still out in the yard (inspite of the snow they wanted to play in) and let me brush them and came back for more when I walked to the garbage to clean out the fur. I so love a good find.

The name on the tag says PetStore (if they have a website the tag says self-cleaning pet brush). I got it at Dollarama but I'm in Toronto. I think that Dollarama is Canadian though I could be wrong.

Diane me who doesn't have a digital camera has not a pic however I am borrowing a digitial from a client and with your help will post a pic.

Those who are interested I will be only to happy to send them to you. I've haven't been this excited about a pet supply in a long time. This brush rocks.

I will have to go take a look at the one we have here. I have seen these brushes in walmart and wondered how good they were.
Thanks Susan!

Debra sorry I meant to address my post to you and realized I had put Diane's name. I've been noticing my posts and how I'm missing words and what's happened to my spelling abilities? I've been working 7 days a week for 7 months straight now and I'm beyond exhausted. You know so tired you feel sick to your stomach, seeing things out of the side of your eye that isn't there and I swear every object I see is in the shape of an animal? Now I know I'm either totally exhausted or totally losing it. I'm inclined to go with a bit of both.

So Debra you can post the pic when I get it. Victoria I will get one. I'm going to borrow a digital camera probably tomorrow.

I have to confess, within hours of reading Susan's post I found myself at our local Dollarama with a couple of these brushes in my hand. I used them last night on my two boys and they did really seem to enjoy getting brushed and kept nudging each other out of the way for their turn. However, I didn't really feel like it was getting all the way down to their undercoat so I was probably putting too much pressure on the brush to get it deeper so the "pop-up" to remove the hair jammed a few times and once the plastic brush came apart from the handle when I was pushing the "pop-up" button but it could easily be snapped back on. It never came apart while I brushed the dogs, even if I was brushing vigorously. The hair could also be removed rather easily by just pulling it out of the teeth yourself so even if the pop up button broke the brush could still be used.

What I did notice however was the brush did an excellent job of raking the hair off my carpet where I was brushing the dogs. Of course, I then had to try it on the carpetted stairs and my couch and it worked great there too! I think I might even keep one in the van for quick clean-ups!!!

Although my experience wasn't quite as positive as Susan's, I still think it was a great find and a bargain price!!! Thanks Susan!

Michelle I am killing myself laughing at your post. BTW if Debra would check her e-mail she will see 2 pics of the brush to post. Actually I found out that if you get to happy with the button to push the hair out you will actually break the brush. I got spring happy and the piece went to far (right over the brissels) so I had to remove the piece that pushes the fur up. Oh it's very cheaply made no question about it but they love being brushed and I had the same thing as you. They were nudging each other out of the way to get brushed. I think it's the rubber brissels. Also my Persian/Himmie decided to lay on her back and let me brush her stomach. She has never allowed me to brush her stomach. Yes the brush may not go deep but Sherman's fur is very fine (maybe a Landseer thing) so for him it's great. Bria has been somewhat shaved from her incontinence problem so she's not as thick as usual.

Victoria I think I've already missed my mark on that one. I'm beyond exhausted and now I have this annoying cold to boot. I have 4 dogs coming in today for boarding which is one more than I usually have at a time. I then have one coming on Sunday for 4 days but one from today will go home Monday. It's just nuts here and I can't even seem to find an hour for myself.

I guess I'll sleep when I'm dead.

Michelle I was just about to feed the guys dinner here and I just had to try this so I went and used this brush on my stairs (that's the only place I have broadloom). Holy crap I can't believe the schmutz it pulled up. I thought the stairs were clean. This may be an even better use for the brush.

I received your e-mail Susan and I do have the two pictures but the format that you sent them in won't upload. Can you resend them in a jpeg format?
