Gloria fell in love!!

Last night on our walk we were rounding the last tree-filled bend. Across the road on the alternate sidewalk a handsome, large black and white border collie (named Mitch as it turns out) swaggered by with his mistress. Gloria comes to a full balking, screeching halt, feet splayed in classic mule position, tilts her head and pawsitively bats her eyelashes at him! I am not kidding! He looked astounded (and a little interested), and his mistress laughed and said, "Well, let's see who wins this one!" I finally got Gloria to reluctantly move on, although her head was turned backwards like an owl, and her eyes were still big and highly flirtatious. The Newfie swing was in full gear, and I am not kidding here either! This is SO out of character for her, but maybe she's bored of all this cold, snowy weather??!! Oddly, the dog on the cover of this month's National Geographic looks just like Mitch! It was weirdly embarassing!

YOU GO GIRL!!!! Remember...don't look easy, play hard to get. Oh to heck with it..Go for it!!!!!!!

Naw c'mon girls.

We all have had that happen to ourselves once or twice in a lifetime. You know where your knees go all weak, and your heart is a-pounding, and all you're trying to do is not pant or drool on this boy's face ....

Yes, it's definitely time for it to be springtime.

Oh Cathy, I just have to show you this picture. I took it last weekend. Nellie just loves the boy next door. It is so funny to watch them together. When he comes outside, she pushes her head against the fence and he comes over and licks her face thru the fence. If anyone told me that dogs could fall in love or have crushes, a year ago-I'd have said they were nuts. Dogs don't have that kind of human emotion, but I witness it all the time when the boy next door comes out to visit. She could care less about our two boys, she's crushin' on the boy next door.

Paula, what a darling picture! Yes, it is obvious they are sweet on each other, and it's too cute! I love the little nuzzling going on! Well, Julie told me that Gloria had a love of her life in a Landseer named Simon, and she would find them sleeping paw on paw sometimes. Isn't that cool? Well, Gloria's code name was "Landseer Girl Gone Wild" the other day, and I'm thinkin Mitch got the message!! LOL Wonder if we'll see them again? Thanks for posting that cute pic, and I'm glad you all got a kick out of my little tail (er I mean tale)!!
