I am so mad. I called the Greenville Inn 2 times last week asking about rates and dates. They didn't actually go into their computer and check availability. Needless to say they have no rooms available Saturday night. I asked about the weekend before and they are full then too. So here are three back up plans
1. You can stay at the Comfort Inn. Their rooms are $62.96 plus tax for 1 or 2 people, $68.96 for three or more. Kids under 18 stay free. They do not accept dogs so you will have to leave your dog here in the kennel here overnight.
2. There is another motel in Greenville that is not at all fancy. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate it a 5. It has been there for as long as I can remember. Basically it will be a place to sleep, a bathroom, Air conditioning and TV. The rates are $48 per night plus tax no matter how many are in the room. There is a $15 pet deposit that you will get back if no damage is done to your room. The will not let me block any rooms as they only have 20 rooms in the whole hotel. You can call an reserve a room if you like. The phone number is 937-548-4171
3. There is a motel that I would classify as the one above. It is called the Ambassador Motel and it is in Union City, Indiana. It is about 20 minutes from me. Their rates are $39 per night no matter how many are in the room (kids under 18 stay free) plus a $5 pet deposit. To reserve a room here you will need to call Hatish (the owner) on his cell phone at 765-744-6630 and tell them you are with the newfoundland workshop. The hotel consists of 18 rooms with king or 2 full beds.
I doubt if either of these hotel have designated smoking and non smoking rooms.
So if you want to stay at the Comfort Inn and keep your newfs here the runs will be available on a first come first serve basis as I am not going to turn away regular paying boarding customers. Altogether I have 20 indoor/outdoor runs, 5 indoor runs (with no access to outside) and 6 outdoor runs (with no access to inside). So we should be OK.
If it is raining Gary and I are planning to rent a huge tent (like the ones used for wedding) You could crate your newfs there if you want also. We can also crate in my shop or Gary's workshop.
Sorry about the in convience. I am so mad right now I can hardly think straight.
Your only othe choice for keeping your newfs in a room with you would be to travel about 40-55 minutes to Troy, OH or Dayton, OH or Richmond IN.
