Frank is HOME!

What a sweet boy he is. We drove 7 hours down and 7 back with Frank and he was just perfect. Squeaked his rubber chicken now and again to let us know he was still with us in the car. We cracked up every time.

He was so good when we stopped for breaks. Waited nicely until he was invited out of the car and then hopped right back in when it was time to go.

There were two barky little dogs at one of the stops, but Frank just looked at them and said, "Whatever". Then met the snappy little bichypoo next door and reacted like the perfect gentleman he is. No biggie for Frank.

He's eaten his dinner, and taken several treats, so he isn't too worried or anxious which is good. But I'm sure he's going to miss his kennel mates. Especially the girls. Time will tell, but so far so good.

He's already enrolled in beginner obed, so we have class on Wed. nights now. He's very easy to handle, no pulling, which is good since he's a somewhat chubby 150 lbs. We both have to go on a diet. Unfortunately, he will meet his goal long before I do. Just 2 - 5 lbs for him. Won't say how much for me. LOL.

He loves to gait for me and stacks nicely, so we may definitely show in veterans. For a 7 year old, he's still very spry and hops on the grooming table with ease.

But best of all, he is a cuddly guy and gives the sweetest kisses.

I'm really glad I decided to bring him home. Hope to make these years his very best.

Will try to get as many photos as possible, but for right now, we are just bonding and discovering each other.

He sounds just perfect. I am so very happy you decided to have him and I'm sure you will have lots of fun. 7 isn't old if he is healthy so there could be lots for you both to do. Looking forward to many photos.
Welcome Frank.

Frank had a good night. Slept on the cool tile floor by the leaky front door. And SNORED! He was tired after that long trip. In fact, he's right behind my desk chair, snoring now. I LOVE IT!

He is a bit overwhelmed and sticking close to me for now. It will take time, but I'm VERY patient. I expect his personality to come through in a couple of weeks. Maybe sooner.

He's going to be a fun boy from what I discovered at his old home. Very perky and eager for attention. And he loves the New Zealand made ZiwiPeak food that I'm using as treats. So glad he is taking treats and eating well. That's always a good sign of a well adjusted dog.

I really thought Spirit was probably my last Newf. I'm so grateful that Frank's breeders were willing to let go of him, since he was exactly what I was wanting, but didn't think I'd ever find. He has quite a reputation among their FB followers as being a silly guy, so I know we can continue his story for years to come.

Photos will be forthcoming as soon as he is rested up.

I just peeled a banana and found a white Frank hair stuck to it. Smiled and ate it anyway. Only other Newf people would understand why that doesn't bother me.

And it reminds me of the Family Guy episode where Meg puts her hair in Brian's pie. hahahahahaha. Now Frank is inside of me. OK, maybe that is a little weird. Sorry. hehehehe

LOL yea I wouldn't go around telling to many people about Frank being inside you now that you ate one of his hair with your banana either :)
