Feeding amounts for puppy

I am feeding my 12 week old puppy Bil Jac puppy. He has been receiving 3 cups a day. My vet said to feed him according to the bag. He weighed 31lbs at 11 weeks. and the bag suggests 20-30=3cups, 30-40=4cups and so on, I do not want to overfeed him is 4 cups to much for him and should I go by the bag suggestions?

hey there,
first of all never feed the puppy .....puppy food its bad for them it over induces growth.....go to a natural large adult dog food.......then follow the bag...my newf is 12.5 weeks and he gets around 3 cups a day......hes only 28 pounds......you can also mix in some freash vegtables and fruit like apples and bannans.( never any citrus fruit). also i mix in raw chiken necks at dinner..like 3 per night along with his kibble.....hope this helps

Really? No puppy food, I thought puppy food for the first six months and then adult? Thanks for your response Luca!
