a friend gave me a lovely children's book called Emily & Carlo for my birthday. It's illustrated with beautiful watercolors and tells about poet Emily Dickinson's beloved Newf Carlo, who was her "shaggy ally" as she called him, for 16 years!

I haven't read this yet, but the cover is beautiful. Told my husband I want it for Christmas. : )
