Elbow/shoulder

My LuLu Belle hurt herself yesterday...not sure what she did...hubby said she was running up the stairs and tripped and hurt her leg. He seems to think it will be fine just a bruised leg...but I am concerned about it. She is 3 and I have been so careful with her and steps and too rough playing and then this happens. We will see the vet tomorrow. I did give her some meloxicam in the middle of the night as she was restless and panting which I know shows that she is in pain. It seemed to help her as today she is not limping or restless. And it is impossible to keep her contained anywhere...so please say a prayer for her that it is nothing serious...I certainly don't want surgery.

Praying hard that it is just a strained muscle and not serious. Let us know what the vet thinks and meanwhile Mo and Splash send her a big hug and xxxx!

Thanks guys...she is doing better...slight limp that I can only see it seems. The Vet said nothing was broken or torn so it was likely a sprain or strain. So, just keep giving meloxicam and stuff for her joints and try to keep her from being crazy. She is also in heat so that makes it worse for her. Poor baby girl.

Our 5 year old female is limping on her right front leg so I was hoping for more details on this post...anyone who has had a front leg injury what might be involved? We have gone through 2 TPLO's with our Lab and I really hope it's not this serious. My husband is taking her to the Vet today. She injured herself on Thursday or Friday so we rested her on Saturday but on Sunday she demanded to go on a walk and she limping again :darn:

All that was needed for Lulu Belle was meloxicam for pain and inflammation and rest. She was better in a couple of days of the medication. I still have her on it for another few days. She didn't break or tear anything just sprain/strain.

Our visit to the Vet with Ziva resulted in the same diagnosis - sprain / strain. He prescribed carprofen for her and told us she needs to lose weight. She's a small girl and weighed in at 127. Of course he didn't tell my Husband what weight she should be and he didn't ask. I have been thinking of giving her a puppy cut - that should be about 2 pounds at least :)
