I was wondering if anyone gives glucasamine to their dogs and what kind? And also other supplements too.
Right now we give Tank Grizzly Salmon oil once a day.

My boys get Cosamin DS, Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil, and Ester C with their raw diet. Angus is dysplastic in both hips and one elbow and we rarely have a problem with the limpies.

You may want to put this in the "food" section. You will get A LOT of response on this topic.
A lot of folks supplement glucosomine. We have used Dasaquin. Some also use Nature's Farmacy - they have a blend they call "Newf Warrior" mix that also includes joint supplements.
I have used Nature's Farmacy products and really like them. The only draw back - a lot of the products have parmesan cheese in them and I notice a smell with breath and drool.... I am switching to Nupro Jopint Supplement for this reason...

Newf pups should get gluc/chon starting as pups for good future joint health. I use human grade products. Human grade products are purer and cheaper than dog varieties. You can get them at drug stores or Costco sells large bottles.

I love the NuPro supplements too and use both the joint and the vitamin and mineral one, along with veggies, olive oil, organic yogurt, any fruits they likes, etc. I love to see them eat and benefit from good nutrition.

The boys get a glucosamine/chondroitin/msm tab everyday. Apache and Beau get a triple strength and Cole gets a reg. strength one. I also use the human ones that I get at Walmart's pharmacy.

With Lilly (my former orthopedic baby) we used Glyco-Flexx III chewable tablets. Now we are back to using the Costco brand and it works great along with Vit C and E and fishoil.

I've been giving Brutus the costco brand human grade glucosamine/chondroitin since he was a puppy. He's 4 and we've never had any problems.

I'm a "Nupro" believer too and fish oil, and on occassion digestive enzymes, etc.. - just depending on what he seems to need.
