Recently a prospective puppy buyer came to visit us, and had a question about something that she was concerned about.
evidantly she had written another breeder about testing that she is not doing on her newfs.
she asked questions such as are you testing for Cystine?
breeder answered no. i have black newfs, only the diluted genes are affected.
Please people, go to the NCA read up about Cystinuria, it is a serious problem that is NOT color specific, it affects all color newfs out there.
the DNA test that they do on our newfs is giving the dogs tested a reading of normal, carrier or affected, make sure you see these papers that the dog in question has been tested.
