Transmissable veneral tumour - unless your dog's having happy days with strays and/or licking their genitalias, the chance is very small of your dog getting it. Plus it's easily treatable (unlike most cancers).

My dogs will still be socializing with othr dogs.......just as the quote says and bettina explains, it is mostly developing countries

My concern is that this will spread into the US because of the efforts of some rescue groups that rescue street dogs from Mexico and Puerto Rico. We actually have a rescue that does precisely that about 15 minutes from where we live. I believe in and support rescue (my posse are all rescues) but also think we should be aware of any potential consequence.
