Clipping shears

Perhaps, I didn't say that correctly. But, I have an ancient Oster Golden A5 clipper. I am in desperate need of blades. I have been looking at some blades on the web, but unsure as to whether they would fit, etc. And since this thingy is so old, not sure that the blades on the web would be compatible.

So, would, could any of you groomers out there give me some info, thoughts or suggestions?

TIA,

Sue

Are they all snap on blades? Right now, I have a very dull #40 blade on it. Is there specific # that I should use for some mats?

TIA,

All are snap on. It all depends on how tight the mat is to the skin. To shave out any mat you need to find the blade that will cut between the mat and the skin. I usually start with a 7F blade then go to a 10F then I try the 15, 30 then 40. Generally the 10 is the one that works the most.
