Clipper Recommendations?

My Wahl clippers died, so looking to see what I should replace them with. So many to choose from! I don't use for shaving, just trimming and working through matted sections in the rear at times....appreciate any input. I asked on Facebook, and was yelled at by groomers telling me not to shave my Newfs. Let me be clear - I don't shave my girls - I just want something to help with grooming them. Both dogs have autoimmune issues so I have to do all the grooming myself. Thanks for any input. I'm just an amateur trying to learn and do the best I can.

I have an Andis that I really like. It's corded, but the cord is really long. It has two speeds and takes a variety of snap on blades. Got it a long time ago, so there are probably newer models.

I don't shave either, but clippers sure come in handy at times. I've used them mostly on old dogs that can't tolerate much fur pulling or need their bellies trimmed short, and for that delicate area around the vulva or under tails when there is smelly discharge, or when there was a particularly bad hot spot. I've also used them on the bottoms of feet for badly matted rescues that don't like sharp scissors poking around near their pads. There are good reasons to have clippers on hand, just in case. My routine grooming is done with scissors, thinners, and Mars, though.

I think too many people tend to jump to conclusions on those (un)social media sites. That's why I quit them and just hang out here.
