Champion bloodlines

Excuse me if this is the wrong catagory to ask this.
I have been looking at Newfoundland websites, just for something to do!
Frequently I come across the phrase "Champion bloodlines" but there doesn't seem to be any mention of who these "Champions" are.
Is there anyone here who can enlighten me.

You have raised a great question. Any person can claim that their dogs are from "Champion lines" but was that one Champion in a 5 generation pedigree. Which registry granted the Championship? The AKC,CKC,UKC,or JoBlo's K.C.?

To me, the phrase "from Champion lines" is the opening to ask more questions and see proof of how many,how far back in the pedigree and where they earned them. If I can't get the answeres to those questions then it doesn't mean a thing.

Also, more important to me is how many of their dogs have CERTIFIED health clearances. Pretty is as pretty does but health wins the race at the end of the day.

I wonder if some of these breeders put that in to impress first time buyers who don't really know what it means. I did try to follow up on a couple of them by asking who the champions were, but didn't get replies, which didn't really surprise me!
