Bessa Goes Hiking

My wife is from Southwest Virginia, and we took my dad with us and spent the holiday weekend down there. Friday we did a local trail, but Saturday Dad and I did an extra hour of driving and Hiked a place called the Cascades in Jefferson National Forest, just north of Blacksburg. This is probably one of the most scenic hikes I've ever been on, and it was very newf-friendly. The hike follows the river the entire way, and while it is a ton of small waterfalls, there a quite a few places for the pups to get themselves wet on a hot day. It is also almost completely shaded. Unfortunately my phone was dead when we got to the largest waterfall at the end or I would have taken pictures of that, as well as the other newf we ran into there.

Highly recommend going here if you ever have a chance. Technically your pups have to be on-leash the entire time you are there, but it seemed like most people ignore that. Bessa actually scared the crap out of a 10 year old when she ranged out in front of us a bit. Girl took one look at her, screamed "bear!" and ran away. When we caught up to her, her parents were nearly rolling on the ground laughing

Girl was fine, she was laughing afterwards too, and really liked Bessa after introductions were made
