Barking at night

Loki has me trained...she barks around 330 am very morning to go out and do her business....she has done this since I rescued her....it's part of our life together....problem is..over the last 2 weeks she has been barking and getting me up 2 and 3 times at night. She is not kennel end and usually sleeps on a rug by my bed.....insomnia and poor rest are creeping in...any suggestions would be helpful....

???? UTI......Maybe she really needs to pee. And sometimes diabetes onset also requires more need to go. A vet visit to rule some of this out might be the go

Also how old as some older dogs can get a bit confused.there are some meds to help with that too. We had one elderly newf who did this. But i always check UTI first

Thanks! We think it could be the Zyrtec that we added at night....she has 60 allergies.....gonna stop the Zyrtec and see what happens

If it seems to be the Zyrtec, you might try giving it in the AM instead of PM. I have allergies and if I take it at night, I'm up several times, taken in the morning I can sleep through without problems.

I have had great success with Zyrtec and my 2 who have allergies. I give it at night and they are fine. I would try giving it in the morning. If she is fine health wise, she could be playing you too. My Shannon used to play me at night. Finally I taught her the word "enough" when I want her to stop barking outside or pulling this stunt at night.
