lol....the only thing I've found feeding direct fat like that does is grease the poop shoot, and lordy, how it flies...Adding a source of oil will help the skin stay hydrated and healthy, which will help with coat transition, but I don't think I'd be picking bacon grease as my source...it's extremely salty. I would definitely go with a fish oil, preferably a sockeye salmon oil, or the fish itself. Sometimes I give mackerel. Others do virgin coconut oil. Those seem a little easier on the stomach and can be given regularly to help maintain a nice skin and coat condition. Apple cider vinegar with the mother is also a good option...ingested or used as a rinse after a bath, it can really help keep skin PH in the right range to help with a healthy/shiny coat.
