Anyone on the east coast

I was planning to go! I heard it's suppose to rain tomorrow with thunderstorms but hopefully it will hold off until the afternoon at least! I didn't sign up ahead of time so I'm going to just bring lunch, but it looks like fun!! They said there's going to be a t-shirt relay race and a spring costume contest and a few other things. Is Keifer going to wear a costume? I have no idea what Eloise can wear!

I know this is an old message. I was just wondering how many members were local or semi local. I'm in southern NJ.

I'm in Middletown, NJ, in Monmouth County. Where are you in South Jersey? Have you been to any of the NewPenDel events yet? They have some very fun ones in the summer. The Paws and Claws event is just super!

Too far north for us. We're with CNC and a lot of their events are too far north...or south. Why can't anybody do anything here??? :(

I've thought of that...something like a Mid-Atlantic/Southern version of Jeannie's get-together.

However, it can't be in summer...too many a)tourists, b)bugs, c)snakes, d)ticks. It would have to be in the mid-Autumn (October) time frame. It's still warm enough to be comfortable, yet too chilly for all the darned bugs! (And the tourists have gone home by then!

I wish!

I think NC is closer than I am. She's right over the MD/WVA line...so she's almost there!!

Be prepared, folks, at the end of March, it'll be COLD!! It's at the foot of the mountains! Brrrrr....

Because of the a)tourists, b)bugs, c)snakes, d)ticks LOL
But seriously we where thinking of a trip down your way this fall when the beaches are open to dogs so if you plan an east coast get-together we will come...

Why don't we all have the get together at the Ocala dog show in November?
They have food, places for campers, bathrooms, venders and Newfies

Logan...that WOULD be the time. The beaches open again at different times...Maryland earlier than Delaware. I think it's mid-to-end of September.

I can just see a bunch of us walking Newfs on the boardwalk in Ocean City! We would be in the local news, for sure!
We can stop for Thrasher's French Fries (they're still open on weekends then) and Fisher's Popcorn!!

I wonder how many would be interested? The Mid-Atlantic NN get together...would be fun!!

Yup! I'd be there with ya Donna! Yes, the nationals is roughly an 45 mins to an hour from here next year in Cumberland Maryland!!! I can't wait! I am coming to Ocean City this summer. I always come 2-3 times per year. Guess, I'll have to start looking for places that take dogs this time eh?

Yep...and I'd be looking NOW! Summer is almost here!! Also...no dogs on the beach during the summer...at all! So, you might want to try to stay Bayside versus Ocean side.

I know some hotels are dog friendly, but in OC that's worthless if they can't go on the beach. Where else is there to go???

See? You know better that I do...I NEVER go to the beach in the summer...never, ever. I don't know the rules, cause I don't intend to step foot in the place until the tourists go home!
(Sorry....
) (All the locals go to the Federal Park on Assateague - and it's great since you drive onto the beach. But those darned ponies can get really annoying sometimes...they'll get in your car for food, and it doesn't feel good if they step on you while you're lying there catching some rays!!)

I know that dogs aren't allowed on the beach in Rehoboth Beach DE until late October. Ocean City is much more progressive....
(well, not really, when I think about it)!!!

We went there this past October for the Classic/Muscle Car Cruise in. There were TONS of dogs everywhere so Yes, I will go back during that time. It was so much more peacful and no crowds. I am looking forward to "The Marina Deck". That is my favorite resturant down there. I have tried them all and Halls is good too if you are looking for a all0you-can-eat seafood buffet. But definently go to The Marina Deck if it is HUGE Crab legs you are seeking, and their Coconut muffins can't be beat and they are free, they come around with a basket loaded with breads, rolls, muffins etc while you wait. Although I am smart enough to know they are NOT going to try to fill me so I eat less of their Crab Legs.....LOL.
