Anesthesia and Fur Loss?

Does being put under anesthesia do anything to a dog's fur? We're definitely in a normal shedding season for Elvis, but instead of blowing his coat he seems to be dropping it.

Any other time it just comes off when you pet him or brush him or blow him out. This time it's falling out in chunks. Nothing terrible - he's certainly not going bald or losing huge patches - but when he gets up or shakes, clumps of hair come falling off.

I thought I had seen something about how being put under can make them shed, but I wasn't sure how right that was. It's just that 2 weeks after his TPLO we're seeing some major hair loss in a way we've never seen before.

Jessica just went through this with Millie, and from what I understand her coat has come in beautifully.

Oh gosh, Yes. I actually even started a thread on it. I was seriously worried. It was horrible. Thin, brittle and falling out in clumps. But her coat has come back in and better than before. it is super shiny and thick. Just give him time and maybe a little extra fish oil, olive oil or eggs.

Bruce didn't really loose his fur..but I did notice that it was dry and brittle with little shine .

Getting back to this, since Millie just finished her second surgery, does anyone know anything I can do to either prevent or help the loss of her coat, and the shine and texture?? It all just finally came back and I don't want her to lose it again. :(
