Delivered Via C section All are happy, healthy screaming up a storm, they are strong and vibrant, i have not seen them yet, am leaving in a few minutes to pick up mom and pups, one pup the first was stuck, there was no way the shoulders would have fit, the vet said he is a huge pup compared to the others,
our day started out with the plug dissolving at 8:30 am
than at noon i noticed bright green discharge, so i called the vet, he said if no pup by 2 this aft to call i did no pup no contractions, she had her back humped and looked uncomfortable, even with walking her and letting her dig, she did not have real strong contractions, so we took her in he gave her an oxy shot, she had contractions, he checked the pup was there, felt the head, and still in the sack.
gave another shot, becouse he just was not coming out, she had more, he checked tryed to reposition the pup, but he could not budge it, the sack was broken, we both looked at each other, and said C section
so.....
i feel good, that i made good decisions all around,
mom is fine, she was kept for a few hours to make sure she did not hemorrage
will post what we have for boys and girls!!!
thank you all for the well wishes, good thoughts!!!!
they sure did help! :D ;)

P.S.
we both looked at the xrays again and it looks like six pups to us, do any of you know if the sixth pup could have been absorbed this late?
the xrays were taken last week i think.
it was pretty late.
thanx!

To answer your question, yes it is possible that one puppy was reasbsorbed at that late date. I had a girl who at 28 days had 6 puppies confirmed by ultra-sound, at day 52 had 2 large puppies confirmed via x-ray and she reabsorbed both.

sorry bout your experience.
do you know than, when absorbing that late, wouldnt there be some sort of skeleton coming out in discharge?
i was informed that if absorbtion happened that late there would be an obvious discharge.
he said he may have misread the xray but dang sure looks to be six to me.
would that explain the extra uterine fluid that came out befre the pup presented itself? it was bright green and quite a lot.
thanx.
