I need to find a rescue that handles Lancaster Pa area willing to take in a 4 yr black newfie girl. She was rescued of CL after she was left outside the woman already has a newf and just wanted to make sure this girl was safe. Any help is appreciated.

A friend just forwarded me the dog's information from her Lab chat forum - I've passed it on to the rescue chair for NewPenDel

My aunt may be interested, so let me know where she ends up. She lives in Lancaster and absolutely ADORES Elvis and all big dogs. She and her husband are retired and looking for something to love on!

I can foster the dog if needed. I live in Pylesville, MD, about 1/2 hour from Lancaster, PA.

If the dog goes into NPD rescue, he will have to go to a foster home in the NPD region. That's NJ, Eastern, Pa., or Delaware. Only NPD club members can foster a dog that is in the NPD club rescue. Club rules.

Raventerp1, are you in the Colonial Newf Club? If not, you should join and volunteer to be a foster home for the Colonial club. Most of the clubs are always in need of foster homes.

I belong to both clubs and have fostered for Colonial. Raventerp1, I think you would love to foster!! If interested, just go the to Colonial site and email Dotty. I have her email as newfrescue@cox.net . I'd be happy to foster her!!!

I live 2 miles from the PA border in Maryland, near Fawn Grove, PA. Lancaster isn't that far, but I already have 6 Newfs.... But again, I will foster her if no one else comes forward.... Yes, I am a member of the Colonial Newf Club....

GOOD NEWS FOR THIS RESCUE GIRL BUT NO LUCK FOR ME YET HAHA SINCE I AM SEARCHING FOR A NEWFOUNDLAND WELL A SECOND I just talked to the woman who had the rescue 4 year old newf she was very sweet, she actually has 2 of her own Marley and minnie and 2 young children and the rescue dog was named marley too..lol I thought that was cute she had two marleys LOL so that poor woman must have been very busy with three newfs in the home with two young children and could not keep the rescue otherwise she said she would (must be a newf lover thing haha always wanting more than one or two haha) I got in touch with her aunt and she forwarded me her email because I am looking to add to my newf family we only have one at the moment but would like to have two! She said she is in the process of doing the vet references and home check so as of right now she has a home (figures I missed her by a day) She said the home seems wonderful and the lady had recently lost her newfoundland male due to old age and now would like to try to fill the void! so as of right now she HAS A HOME so great news for her kindof bad for me lol but I will find one soon...
just THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE AN UPDATE TO THOS OF YOU FOLLOWING...

Ha, what a small world...

I just recieved an email from this woman. She had brought her Newf, Marley in to me to be groomed about a year ago. She said Marley looked amazing. Then some months later, she made an appointment but never showed up. I was upset by this as I had kept the whole day clear just to groom her newf so that was a days lost wages. I wrote and nicely expressed my dissappointment in her for not calling or showing up and I told her she would have to find another groomer.

Well she just wrote to me and apologized for standing me up. Her husband was in an accident. She asked if I would consider grooming her newfs Marley and Minnie and she told me about the newf she was trying to place. She said she was doing a home inspection tomorrow. She also asked what she should ask the vet. Of course I told her. I'm glad she is doing these things. She also asked me if this didn't work out with this family if I would be willing to foster her. I told her I would.

So hopefully, Marley will end up in a good home.
