16 years old newfy

Hello!

I've seen a wonderfull story on TV about a black newfy. He lives with his owner in a small apartment in a block. And the nicest thing about it is, that this dog is 16 years old. And he's still very brisk. He's got some trouble walking but that's because he got them stuck between bars half a year ago. Otherwise he's still a charming old newf.

Isn't this a wonderful peace of news, that even those lovely creatures can live for so long. If you look in the book it usually sais 1o, maybe 12 years. But this one made it to 16 and he'll probably do more. And if I can help it, so will my Misha

Have you ever heard of Henry?

Henry was a Newf from Newf-L fame who lived until the ripe old age of 17yrs, 7mo, 15 days!

Henry was very much loved by all who knew him. In fact a book has been written about Henry:

We got Sara, our rescue, when she was 7 yrs old. We are her 9th and final home. We don't understand why anyone would not want such a girl. We pray that she lives a long long long time. She will be 10 in May and so far she seems in very good health except for a little arthritis in one hock. We don't know if the heartworms did any permenant damage, but again we pray we have her for a long time.

I am glad to hear of newfs living so long. Sampson is only 6, but I don't know what I would do without him! Thanks for sharing.
