Jeannie, she was our sighted one. Kilrain was our pup that was blind. He just passed about 6 weeks back, haven't posted yet. It has been a tough 18 months for us. Lost both pups, Sharon's dad, Sharon's uncle, cataract surgery, elbow surgery, and my best friend from K-12. Been a rough patch.

This fall we lost Katala, the brown in my avatar. She was 14 years and 4 months. She had melanoma and that caught up with her. She passed in peace under a tree on a sunny day. I miss her terribly; she was my friend and my shadow and got me through some tough times.

Just got the news from our vet today. The tumor Katala had removed from her mouth is a melanoma. This is the worst of the cancers in the mouth. We are now figuring out what to do next. Tough decisions with a 14 year old newf. She is such a good girl and had been by my side for so long.

As we speak Newfmom is helping the goat rental folks place the goats on our lot (yes you can rent goats). We live out in the rural area outside Seattle and we have blackberries taking over the lot (they are a non-native species that is very invasive). The goat people had vehicle issues and...

Just came back from a pet event out here in Seattle area. Ran across a tool called a Furizzy. Really great tool for getting the undercoat out on a dog. The link is http://www.furizzy.com . Just thought folks migh be interested in it.

Couple of quick questions. 1) Has anyone heard of any dog with gastroplexy having bloat? (actual experience not theoretical) 2) Are there any reasons folks wouldn't do it?

Anyone lose a female newf in the Seattle (Duvall) area. Someone posted on the dog list at work that they found one. Looks like a young/teen female. Let me know if you have any leads.

Annette works at the same place I just started at two weeks ago. We met up for lunch. It is really neat to be able to go across the country and meet someone nice that has a love of Newfs. NN is really cool some days.

My little girl turns three today. We will be taking her to the local pet fiesta in Reston. Thank you so very much Susan.
