Max is feeling the effects of being a weekend athlete. We went on a 3 km hike slowly then he swam and swam and swam. By eve he was whimpering and stiff. He overdid it and refused to move without help last nite. Its a holiday here so we saw the 24-7 vet. He is going to our vet tomorrow.

We took Knight to his regular vet on Sat and after a good exam she said she can see retinal degeration quite pronounced in the one eye. We are going to go to a specialist in 3 weeks to determine if this is congenital or caused by an injury to his eye. She wouldn't/couldn't say for sure but...

I was wondering if anyone had any info on loss sight in Newfies. I see things with our male Knight that make me believe he losing eyesight. Do they get cataracs? Any ideas? Thanks!
