    Taming the wavy coat

Do any of you experienced groomers have any suggestions for taming a wavy coat?

    Another new CGC

Honey Cup just passed her CGC and I am so proud of her. Best of all was coming home though and cuddling up on the couch to celebrate.

    Weaning from treats

Honey Cup will do anything and do it very quickly and enthusiastically if a treat is offered. Without the rewards, she is not quite as dependable with her obedience. She just turned a year old. Anyone else have this problem and anyone have any suggestions for breaking our dependence on goodies?

    Brinkley

We helped my beloved Brinkley across the bridge today. It was a year ago that she was diagnosed with lymphoma. We achieved a remission which lasted 4 months but the grief of losing her friend, Jessie, seemed too much. She had a reaction to the chemo, then was on a chemo which was ineffective...

    Brinkley update

We went back to the oncologist yesterday and she does feel it is a reaction to the chemo. Brink is drinking water but not eating yet but ran across the back yard and barked at a squirrel yesterday (not with her usual enthusiasm, but trying to be back on the job) The bad news is that this...

    BelleAire (non Newf)

Today I had to help my old horse, Belle Aire, cross over the bridge. She was 26 years old and I have had her since she was 7. She was a beautiful girl and I was blessed to have had many wonderful years with such a beautiful soul.

    Jessie

This morning we helped Jessie to cross the Rainbow Bridge. My daughter and I slept with her last night and the vet came to our house this morning. We held her and petted her and Brinkley rested her head on Jessie's neck as she drifted off. It was very peaceful although still very sad. She...

    Lymphoma

Anybody have any experience with lymphoma (their Newfs, that is). My Brinkley was diagnosed 2 weeks ago while we were at the acupuncture vet for ACL eval. Tomorrow we go to the oncologist. I'm trying to be very positive. It helps that my oldest brother was diagnosed with it 24 years ago and...

    Vacationing with Newfies

We recently vacationed in Michigan and it was almost perfect. The only thing missing was our furry friends. The resort has a strict no pets policy. Have any of you found any nice places which are fun for children and Newfies? I would love to camp but my husband likes indoor plumbing and a...
