Raw food for pups?

I have a 9 week old Newf pup. If you feed raw, do you feed raw meaty bones to a pup with baby teeth? Or prepared raw food with ground bones? Any considerations for calcium/phosphorus ratio? Or would a standard product of meat/organ meat/bones/fish oil suffice? How much do you feed a growing puppy?

First of all, your breeder should be consulted on how to feed your pup. Secondly, I would not recommend raising a giant pup on raw. Calcium drives the growth and unless you are doing consistent blood work to assess mineral levels, you could easily exceed the recommended amount and end up with orthopedic issues...

I would highly recommend joining the Holistic Newf Group on Facebook. There is a lot of valuable info on that page. Following proper guidelines, puppies can definitely be fed a raw diet and there are many breeders that wean their puppies onto a raw diet.

I would certainly discuss with your breeder first in case they are not on board. Not everyone is a fan of raw. :)

I agree, and it is a great FB page, but it does require some knowledge and study and it is not just feed raw meat

My puppies are fed RAW and my Breeder is totally aware and happy, but she also knows that I have done this for years and studied it.

My puppies are fed bones from 4 weeks as my Breeder gives them bones too
