Cleaning up, help!

Late this afternoon, I realized that my Bodie had diarrhea and he urinated also on the carpet.

I don't have a rug cleaning machine.

Are there some household products that I may have on hand until I can get out and purchase some other type of cleaning solution?

I have lifted as much of the solids as possible, and blotted up as much of the urine as possible.

This poor carpet has sustained 30 + years of human traffic and 27 + years of mostly dogs and some cats eliminations.

Thanks!

The old way of cleaning urine is with vinegar diluted in water. It's not perfect, but it's been around for years. As always, test in a inconspicuous spot first.

Jane,

Thanks! But trust me on this, this carpet has certainly seen better days. If by cleaning it, alters the color, it certainly will not be worse than the color/s I have now!

But, thanks again!

Salt crystals on the urine to soak up any missed then vacuum them up next day.
Vinegar may help or washing powder in a 50/50 mix

We bought the Big Green Machine (commercial) it's been fantastic for any of our needs. I think you can rent them at Lowe's and the Bissel pet odor seemed to work wonderfully. (I also use it as a spot remover, when I don't want to lug the machine out)

He's doing fine! It won't be the first nor the last of accidents on the carpet! But, why can't they eliminate on the tile floor????? Hmmm...still can't figure that out.
